Job Summary
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) assists Physical Therapists in implementing and maintaining treatment plans using a variety of treatment techniques creating personalized goal-oriented health care programs for patients. S/he will treat patients, sanitize treatment areas, set up therapy equipment and monitor patients throughout their treatment. DUTIES include collecting and recording patient information, executing established treatment plans, administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility, advising patients on exercise techniques and in-home treatment options, providing educational information about injury prevention and ergonomics, setting up therapy equipment, sanitizing therapy areas, lifting/moving patients as needed, monitoring progress during exercises, documenting patient care notes, complying with rules and HIPAA, and assuming other responsibilities as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE highlights the PTA program completion, Kansas PTA license, BLS, and preferred 1-2 years in a clinical setting. This position is with Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, KS, and is described as PRN Days, requiring part-time availability.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Physical Therapy Assistant program from an accredited educational institution
- Current Kansas Physical Therapy Assistant License
- Current BLS Certification
- 1-2 years’ experience in an acute or clinical setting, preferred
