Job Summary
Answer the telephone using the company's professional greeting, greet visitors, and distribute mail and faxes. Qualify orders by identifying diagnosis and insurance coverage, verify reimbursement information, and process third-party billing. Input customer orders into the computer system, obtain verbal and written physician orders, and arrange delivery or pickup times. Handle complaints courteously, audit delivery paperwork, track active rentals, and obtain prior authorizations from third-party payers. Instruct customers on safe equipment use and provide instructional materials with required signatures. Maintain current patient files, assist with computer reports for quality assurance, and participate in company training programs. Perform duties in other locations as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a Clerical or Customer Service environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) etc.
- Proficient general office skills (typing, computer, fax, filing, multiple phone line)
- Neat personal appearance with pleasing manner and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills with capacity to make independent decisions
- Medicare/Medicaid and insurance billing, bookkeeping or medical office experience preferred
