Job Summary
Support people with mental illnesses in a residential setting by coaching and teaching skills for independent living. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining structured daily schedules, utilizing recovery-focused and person-centered practices, applying motivational interviewing techniques to help individuals work toward personal goals, encouraging participation in social, recreational, educational, and cultural activities, providing resident transportation when needed, assisting with housekeeping and skill-building for maintaining living spaces, developing person-centered service plans, monitoring progress toward stated goals, and documenting interactions related to service plan goals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma with two (2) years of relevant experience or an associate degree in human services or related field or bachelor’s degree (preferred). Valid NYS Driver’s License (as driving is an essential function of the position). May be required to lift (minimum of 35 lbs.), push, pull, or carry heavy objects.
