Job Summary
Conduct daily patient evaluations and treatments in both inpatient and outpatient settings, serving as the primary backup to the inpatient therapist. Coordinate with the Lead Therapist on outpatient clinic operations, implement departmental policies, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Manage clinical documentation, collect performance improvement data, and assist the Director in quality metrics and staff training. Orient new hires, lead clinical education for students, and participate in hiring decisions and performance evaluations. Act as a resource for community outreach and education while providing leadership when the Director is unavailable.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Minimum five years of previous experience as a Physical Therapist
- Current California State License
- Current BLS Certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Demonstrated flexibility and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline
- Strong charting/documentation skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse population
Desired Qualifications
- One to two years in a lead role
- Experience in both acute and outpatient settings within the last 3-5 years
- Professional association membership
- Bilingual in English & Spanish
