Job Summary
Support outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy clinic operations by assisting licensed providers with patient positioning, transfers, and therapeutic modality application. Manage patient registration, scheduling, cashiering, and follow-up while coordinating appointments with physicians. Handle reception duties including phone management, message taking, billing, and medical record assembly. Review therapy orders in electronic systems, process reimbursement forms, and track insurance authorizations. Maintain department files, stock therapy equipment and linens, and ensure treatment areas meet safety and hygiene standards through cleaning and minor equipment troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- High School Graduate
- 1 year of experience in health care, public relations or health care education
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to engage people in a warm and positive way
- Intermediate computer skills including experience with word processing, spreadsheet software, data entry and keyboarding
- Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, kneel, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. from waist to overhead
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force
- Must be able to perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present
- Must have functional speech, hearing, and sight
- Ability to wear protective clothing as needed
- Must be able to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
- Must be available for travel
