Job Summary
Review and verify patient demographics and insurance information using NetHealth or similar EMR systems. Process billing transactions for rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, while generating and submitting insurance claims accurately. Investigate denial reasons such as missing information or coding errors, then contact carriers to check status and discuss paths to payment. Collaborate with providers and patients to ensure accurate billing, prepare formal appeals for reconsideration, and follow up on unpaid claims to maximize reimbursement. Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and stay current on healthcare billing regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High School / GED
- 1-3 years of experience
- Travel: Yes: Minimally, as required (Typically less than 10%)
Desired Qualifications
- experience using NetHealth or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems for monthly billing
- experience working within a clearing house system (Waystar) for denial management and rejection status
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- attention to detail
- strong organizational skills
