Job Summary
Regulatory Specialist to ensure regulatory compliance for packaging and labeling, verify ingredient statements and nutritional information, ensure USDA compliance, manage product development collaborations, and optimize costing/pricing. Works with sales, marketing, production, and QA to support and launch compliant products; identifies process improvements for ongoing compliance and development. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years in food industry regulatory compliance and product development, with knowledge of USDA guidelines, strong analytical/costing/pricing skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and regulatory software. Location: Newark, NJ, full-time with occasional travel to suppliers. Responsibilities include regulatory compliance for packaging/labeling; obtaining product specs/certifications from suppliers; managing samples; optimizing recipes for cost and quality; cross-functional collaboration for successful product launches; and driving continuous improvement in compliance and development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Regulatory Affairs, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in food industry regulatory compliance and product development
- Knowledge of USDA guidelines
- strong analytical, costing, and pricing skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
