Job Summary
Lead and manage Clorox’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulatory programs across products and packaging. Interpret statutes, regulations, and guidance to determine producer responsibilities, scope, exemptions, and timing; translate regulatory requirements into actionable internal guidance; ensure accurate regulatory filings including producer registrations and reports. Serve as the primary liaison with PROs and engage external trade associations while coordinating with Government Affairs, Legal, Sustainability, and other functions to ensure compliance. Track evolving EPR regulations across the U.S. and international geographies, identify risks and gaps, and provide concise updates to senior leadership on obligations and developments. Preferred experience with packaging regulations and multi-category EPR obligations; advanced degree in a regulatory-relevant field is a plus. On-site in Oakland.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (e.g., engineering, chemistry, environmental science, materials science, or related field)
- 8+ years of regulatory affairs, product stewardship, compliance, or related technical/regulatory function
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks involving EPR and multi-jurisdictional programs
- Experience interpreting complex regulations and delivering regulatory guidance
- Ability to communicate regulatory concepts clearly across functions and leadership
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders and external groups (e.g., PROs, regulators)
- Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills
