Job Summary
Regulatory Counsel responsible for leading license applications (MiFID, MiCA), handling regulator relations, and ensuring crossborder EU/EEA regulatory compliance. Role includes serving as the main point of contact for regulators and external counsel, managing passporting notifications, drafting and updating operational procedures, maintaining regulatory registers, auditing counterparties, and filing regulatory reports. Requires at least 4 years of fintech/banking regulatory experience, strong knowledge of MiFID/MiFIR, MiCA, AML, and ability to operate across multiple jurisdictions, with native-level French and professional English proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Law degree from a university or business school
- At least 4 years of experience in a legal department of fintech or banking/financial institution or financial regulatory department of a law firm
- Proven track record engaging with French and/or other EU financial regulators related to license applications
- Expert knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to Spiko (MiFID/MiFIR, MiCA, AML)
- Ability to manage legal/regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions and frameworks
- Excellent written and spoken French; professionally proficient in English
- Versatility to support regulatory compliance and non-recurring matters (product/service analysis, updates of legal documentation, corporate law, litigation, non-core commercial agreements)
