Job Summary
Regulatory Compliance Specialist to support California’s surplus line insurance marketplace. Responsibilities include researching, interpreting, and communicating requirements under the California Insurance Code and California Code of Regulations related to surplus line licensing, transaction filing requirements, bond requirements, and surplus line tax reporting; monitoring regulatory developments and informing internal teams and members of changes; responding to member inquiries; developing, maintaining, and revising compliance guidelines, resources, procedures, and educational materials; coordinating with the California Department of Insurance, SLA legal counsel, and internal leadership; supporting webinars, presentations, publications, events, and other member education initiatives; collaborating with internal teams to identify and resolve process, system, and operational issues affecting broker registration and policy transaction filing; assisting with regulatory compliance projects and workflow tracking.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any related field
- Experience researching, interpreting, or applying laws, regulations, compliance requirements, insurance rules, or similar technical guidance.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate complex requirements clearly and professionally to members, colleagues, regulators, and other stakeholders.
