Job Summary
Regulatory Affairs Specialist responsible for ensuring USDA and other regulatory compliance, interpreting requirements, and guiding labeling, packaging, and product decisions to be compliant and market-ready. Partners cross-functionally with Product Development, Quality, Operations, Sales, and other teams to maintain effective compliance systems and controls; reviews product labeling (Nutrition Facts, ingredient statements, allergens, net weights), manages CNL submissions, and supports export regulatory requirements as needed. Emphasizes staying ahead of regulatory changes, translating complex regulations into practical business guidance, and enabling product innovation and growth across the lifecycle from formulation review to labeling approvals. Office-based role in Georgia with collaboration across internal teams and external agencies; requires strong regulatory knowledge, communication, and proficiency with standard Microsoft Office tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related field is a plus)
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant regulatory experience will be considered
- Minimum 5 years of regulatory affairs experience in the food processing industry
- Poultry or meat industry experience is preferred
- Hands-on experience with food labeling, ingredient compliance, and regulatory interpretation
- Strong knowledge of USDA regulations and food labeling requirements
- Ability to interpret regulatory language and apply it to real-world business decisions
- High attention to detail with strong organization and project management skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple priorities
- Strong communicator who can engage effectively with internal teams and external agencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
