Job Summary
Independently provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for patients on med/surg units while utilizing the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Guide and direct assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care, communicating and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes and continuity. Positively contribute to safety outcomes and promote a high-quality patient experience. This per diem evening shift role (1500-2330) requires a current Illinois nursing license, BSN preferred, and at least two years of recent acute care med/surg experience with telemetry competence. Candidates must maintain active BLS and NIHSS certifications. Located at Evanston Hospital Primary with Skokie as a secondary site, this position offers premium pay for shifts, holidays, and on-call work, plus tuition reimbursement and wellness savings plans. Required Qualifications
- Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL
- Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing
- BLS Certification for the Healthcare Provider
- Active NIHSS certification
- Minimum two years of recent acute care clinical experience in med/surg
- Telemetry competence
- Telemetry competence demonstrated within 14 days of hire by passing online telemetry test
- Evening shift availability (1500-2330)
- Weekend and holiday requirements per level agreement
- Per Diem Level 1: 32-72 hrs. or Per Diem Level 2: 73-110 hrs. or Per Diem Level 3: 111-144 hrs./ per 6-week schedule
