Registration Specialist - Outpatient

Job Summary
Register patients for outpatient services, collect demographic/billing/insurance information, enter data into registration and billing systems, and provide information on insurance, payments, and hospital procedures. May obtain pre-certification/authorizations, prepare consent forms and notices of privacy practices, obtain electronic signatures, collect deposits/co-pays/deductibles, create patient identification armbands, balance daily receipts, follow system flags, perform basic screenings for coverage, and assist with scheduling and cancellations as part of hospital workflows. Requires high school diploma and strong clerical, computer, detail-oriented, organizational, and communication skills to support patient access and billing processes.
Required Qualifications
- 1. High school graduate or equivalent
- 2. State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.
