Job Summary
Support the day-to-day activities of the NYU Tandon Office of Records & Registration by creating, updating, and maintaining course and class data to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Liaise with Tandon and NYU offices to address inquiries and resolve scheduling, student registration, and records issues while proactively identifying potential course scheduling or room assignment conflicts. Interpret and communicate academic, registration, and enrollment policies and procedures to students, faculty, staff, parents, and colleagues. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years of experience supporting registrar functions, and proficiency in PeopleSoft, 25Live, and MS Office Suite.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related area
- 3+ years experience supporting registrar functions, preferably in higher education, supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of students services principles and practices in areas such as financial aid, bursar, registrar, enrollment services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Course leaf Section Scheduler, Event Management Software (EMS) and 25Live
- Understanding of FERPA regulations
- Proven ability to apply current best practices in student record keeping
- Skill and technical proficiency in electronic document management systems, student information systems, i.e. PeopleSoft and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to analyze and problem solve
- Ability to plan for and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to interact with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders (excellent customer service)
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-up
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize in fast-paced environment
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult or conflicting requests
- Ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, staff, parents, and colleagues
