Job Summary
Coordinate patient registration, insurance verification, and scheduling of patients accurately. Interview patients by phone and in-person to gather demographic, insurance (referral/authorization), and other information, creating a welcoming patient experience in person or via phone. Ensure referring providers' orders are complete and match the appointment scheduled; obtain new orders if incomplete; scan insurance cards, scripts, and regulatory forms; secure signatures for timely reimbursement; determine and collect patient financial liability and create estimates; refer patients to financial resources as needed; review daily schedule for conflicts and coordinate with colleagues/providers to resolve; maintain registration accuracy and compliance with policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year Customer service or 1 year Healthcare environment such as a hospital and/or physician office
- Computer and typing proficiency
- Must be able to interact with a diverse customer base, including those seeking emergency services or treatment due to an accident or illness
- Must successfully pass the required training in two attempts or less
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates degree preferred
- 1 year customer service or 1 year healthcare environment experience (hospital or physician office)
- Computer and typing proficiency
- Bilingual Spanish/English (preferred)
- Ability to interact with diverse customer base
- Must pass required training within two attempts
