Job Summary
Facilitate patient flow from entry to destination while obtaining accurate financial and demographic records to ensure maximum reimbursement. Schedule appointments, interview patients for medical information, explain department policies, validate charges, and collect necessary payments. Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately. Requires ability to interpret insurance information and knowledge of clinical practices. High School Diploma/GED required; previous Cerner experience preferred. Located in Primary Care- Ellettsville on a PRN, Day Shift schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to learn and retain medical coding; ICD-10; CPT coding
- Ability to interpret insurance information
- knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology
- Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Previous Cerner experience
