Job Summary
Greet visitors and patients in person, by telephone, or via video conferencing while entering and updating patient demographic, insurance, and financial obligation data. Obtain applications, confirm signatures, photocopy documents, and collect patient liabilities, balancing the cash box daily. Coordinate patient admission needs, bed assignments, and tracking boards, and provide wayfinding instructions. Meet audit accuracy standards by working worklists and error reports, and maintain a safe environment by reporting environmental hazards. Work 36 hours per week across weekday shifts in 12-hour day or overnight rotations. Full flu vaccination is required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 6+ months of experience in an office setting, customer service setting (over the phone OR face to face), phone support role or call center environment
- Beginner level of proficiency with Windows applications
- Ability to work 36 hours per week
- Sunday from 8:30am - 9:00pm
- 2 weekday shifts per week, in 12 hour day/overnight shifts
- Full Flu vaccination
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Candidates located in states that mandate Flu booster doses must also comply with those state requirements
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of registration experience in a hospital OR medical setting
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Working knowledge of insurance policies and procedures and patient care settings
- Previous experience working for Northern Light Health
