Job Summary
Registrar role in Admitting supports patient care by accurately capturing and verifying demographic and insurance information via in-person and telephone interactions; schedules procedures, obtains authorizations, pre-registers patients, maintains and organizes medical records, and delivers courteous, professional service. Responsibilities include interacting with patients and families, scheduling and coordinating procedures based on physician availability and procedure requirements, verifying insurance eligibility and obtaining necessary authorizations, collecting financial responsibility estimates, communicating operative reports to physician offices, preparing charts for upcoming procedures, maintaining the medical records system, handling requests for medical records, answering calls with professionalism, and upholding attendance and policies.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required
- 0-2 years of experience in a customer service role required
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (suggested)
