Job Summary
Provide veterinary technician support at a general-practice hospital. Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, digital radiology, dental procedures (including digital X-rays, scaling, polishing, extractions), and anesthesia-related tasks (induction, intubation, monitoring) as well as surgical assisting. Conduct in-house laboratory work, ultrasound for diagnostic imaging, and maintain accurate medical records. Deliver exceptional client communication and education. Requires active California RVT license and 3+ years of clinical veterinary experience.
Required Qualifications
- California RVT license active in good standing
- 3+ years veterinary experience in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint; Fear Free preferred
- Digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
- Evidence of ability to perform dental procedures (scaling, polishing, extractions)
- Ability to perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Comfort with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring)
- Laboratory skills with in-house equipment; urine cytology, ear/fecal cytology
- Excellent client communication and medical history collection
- Record documentation accuracy
