Job Summary

Assist board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists with examinations, treatments, diagnostic procedures, and surgeries while providing skilled patient monitoring before, during, and after care. Perform specialized ophthalmic diagnostic testing, support anesthesia including preparation and recovery, and assist with urgent cases involving eye injuries or acute conditions. Maintain accurate electronic medical records, clean specialized medical equipment, and educate pet owners on treatments and follow-up. Work four 10-hour shifts at Veterinary Vision's San Carlos and San Francisco locations, supporting a team of three board-certified specialists and serving the greater Bay Area.

Required Qualifications

  • Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license
  • Minimum of two years of veterinary clinical experience
  • Strong veterinary anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring skills
  • Ability to accurately perform medication, drug dosage, CRI, estimate, and other veterinary medical calculations
  • Strong patient care, organization, communication, and technical skills
  • Compassionate and professional approach to client communication and patient care
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working within a collaborative specialty veterinary team
  • Interest in veterinary ophthalmology, specialty medicine, surgery, and continued professional development
  • Location: San Carlos & San Francisco, California
