Job Summary
As a crucial member of the Emergency and Critical Care team, provide on-site RVT support alongside Emergency Doctors to deliver urgent patient care. Responsibilities include triaging and assisting clients, collaborating with DVMs on assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures; performing lab work and using imaging modalities; anesthesia support including sedation and recovery; and caring for hospitalized patients, including intensive care cases such as dialysis and total plasma exchange. Requires strong communication with clients, ongoing learning mindset, and a solid foundation in core veterinary technician skills (venipuncture, IV catheter placement, dose calculations, medication administration, vital signs, medical history) to support exceptional patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in good standing
- 1+ year of experience as a Veterinary Technician
- Competency in procedures, surgical preparation, patient monitoring, and client education
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, kneel, bend, and restrain active animals
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Venipuncture
