Job Summary
Registered Veterinary Technician in anesthesia responsible for pre-anesthesia evaluations, monitoring anesthetic cases hospital-wide, and implementing multimodal pain management plans. Roles include setting up and troubleshooting anesthesia machines, assessing ventilation/oxygenation/acid-base balance, and supporting clinicians in multiple specialties under the supervision of the anesthesiologist and specialty manager. Requires RVT with at least 2 years of experience, experience in a specialty veterinary hospital preferred, and fluent English.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with at least 2 years of applicable experience
- At least 2 year of experience within a specialty veterinary hospital preferred, preferably within an anesthesia department
- Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures and terminology
- Safely handle, lift, and restrain dogs/cats; stand for extended periods
- Perform venipuncture and place peripheral IV catheters using aseptic technique
- Basic surgical experience preferred
- Communicate effectively with technicians, assistants, doctors, and staff
- Detail-oriented multitasker with strong decision-making skills in fast-paced settings
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
