Job Summary
Conduct nurse-led appointments and assist with two or more surgeries daily, managing pre and post procedure activity for routine procedures, dentals, and heart scans. Deliver patient monitoring, care, and admissions/discharges while completing medication dispensing and checking. Support reception duties, nursing, and in-house admin tasks within a 3-Vet practice equipped with x-ray, biochemistry, and haematology facilities. Coordinate team briefings to ensure effective practice running and handle patient transfers to out-of-hours care as directed. Work a 4-day week with 9.5-hour shifts, including an alternating 1-in-6 weekend rota at the Enfield 24-Hour Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse
- Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care
- Experience of working effectively as part of a team
- Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency
- Experience of using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for early (07:40–17:10) and late (11:00–20:30) shifts
- Must be able to support across all areas of the practice, including reception duties, nursing, and some in-house admin tasks
- Must be able to complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care
- Must be able to deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards
- Must be able to hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice
