Job Summary
Performs diagnostic ultrasound exams with independent judgment; selects appropriate transducers to obtain high-quality diagnostic images; ensures proper disinfection and patient identification; enters and transmits exam data via Radiology software; adheres to Joint Commission standards, HIPAA, and safety procedures; communicates with patients, provides education about ultrasound procedures, and maintains professional conduct; maintains ARDMS credentials and keeps up with software updates; supports CPT/ ICD-10 coding for billing; demonstrates service excellence using AIDET principles; participates in safety and quality initiatives; annual performance goal reviews with Radiology Manager; bilingual ability is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound school
- Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and maintain ARDMS credentials
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Two (2) years’ OB/GYN experience
- Two (2) years’ experience in a clinic or hospital setting
