Job Summary
Assess patients, plan individualized care, and implement nursing interventions while administering medications, blood products, and IVs. Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, manage arrest situations, and provide activities of daily living for neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Supervise staff, serve as charge nurse or preceptor, and maintain accurate EMR documentation for admissions, discharges, and transfers. Respond to emergency pages, verify equipment functionality, and communicate with physicians and families. Complete mandatory educational requirements, participate in quality improvement activities, and adhere to infection control standards. Work the assigned schedule including overtime and call as required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama
- ACLS within six (6) months of hire with a thirty (30) day window for renewal from expiration
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support within six (6) months of hire with a thirty (30) day window for renewal from expiration
- TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course within eighteen (18) months of hire with a six (6) month window for renewal from expiration
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements
