Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary
Perform routine Respiratory Care procedures and manage mechanical ventilation, including airway management, gas therapy, and patient assessments for newborns, pediatrics, and adults. Respond to emergencies and CPR, monitor ventilated patients, and forward recommendations to physicians. Conduct intubations, arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, EKGs and holter monitoring; assist with patient transports and care planning; document treatments and procedures; participate in education of students and quality-improvement activities; support discharge planning and equipment sterilization. Maintain department records, supplies, and assist with department performance improvement initiatives. Demonstrates ability to calibrate and operate respiratory equipment (e.g., PFTs, AVL-995 blood gas analyzer) and comply with vaccination requirements as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- NBRC certification
- Certified in basic Cardiac Life Support by AHA
- BCLS instructor certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- Tennessee state license with ABG certification or an Active Tennessee state work permit
- Graduate from an AMA school, Certified or Registered by NBRC
