Job Summary
Conduct medication administration and implement respiratory care using the evaluate-and-treat process in complex, multiple problem-patient situations, primarily within critical care areas. Manage protocol ventilators, perform airway management including intubation and extubation, and interpret wave form graphics. Deliver patient and family education while mentoring new employees and students. Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan care, perform arterial blood gas sampling, and assist in invasive procedures, cardiac services, and pulmonary diagnostic testing. Maintain accurate electronic documentation, ensure medication safety, and review updated protocols. Requires NBRC-RRT certification, ACLS, and PALS; offers night shifts with relocation assistance up to $10,000 and sign-on bonus up to $15,000.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science
- Associate's Degree A.S. degree required
- Bachelor's Degree
- NBRC-RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
- RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner
- BLS - Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS-I - PALS - Instructor
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program or NRP-P - NRP-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days or NRP-I - NRP - Instructor
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
- Ability to communicate well
- Critical thinking skills
- Establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other health care professionals
- Computer skills including familiarity with databases
- Good customer relation, assessment, and communication skills
