Job Summary
Administer medication and implement respiratory care using the evaluate-and-treat process for complex, multiple problem-patient situations. Deliver critical care coverage including protocol ventilator management, airway management, and arterial blood gas sampling while collaborating with the health care team to plan patient care. Educate patients, families, and support systems; mentor new employees, students, and peers. Provide patient safety, promote evidence-based practice, and participate in performance improvement initiatives. Work in critical care areas with significant independent decision-making and self-direction.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree A.S. degree
- Bachelor's Degree
- NBRC-RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
- RCP - Respiratory Care Professional
- BLS - Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS-I - PALS - Instructor
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program or NRP-P - NRP-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days or NRP-I - NRP - Instructor
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
- Ability to communicate well
- Critical thinking skills
- Establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other health care professionals
- Computer skills including familiarity with databases
- Good customer relations
- Assessment skills
- Communication skills
