Job Summary
Provide respiratory care across acute care settings, including diagnostic testing, treatment planning, and administration of respiratory therapies. Operate respiratory devices such as mechanical ventilators, NIV, and oxygen delivery systems; monitor patient responses (ABG, vitals, gas changes); educate patients and families; perform pulmonary function testing and related procedures; ensure safety and adherence to physician orders; maintain and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment; collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to manage respiratory conditions; perform bronchopulmonary drainage, chest percussion, and various therapy modalities; precept students and trainees; participate in quality assurance and compliance with hospital policies; requires Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy, Iowa licensure, NBRC registration, and relevant certifications; ACLS/PALS/NRP and mandatory reporting within specified timelines; no call rotation required; additional responsibilities span several roles within respiratory services (RTs, CRTs, and related positions) as described in the job posting; compensation includes a sign-on bonus and benefits package.”,
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree (AA) Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Therapist program
- Licensed by the State of Iowa as Respiratory Care and Polysomnography Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- 1-2 years prior acute care experience (preferred)
- ACLS, PALS and NRP, child and adult mandatory reporter within 1 year of hire
- Current Iowa License
- Certified or Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
