Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT (5948)

Conduct respiratory care therapy and treatments for patients with cardio-pulmonary deficiencies, including administering intermittent positive pressure breathing, medical gas, humidity, aerosol therapy, and chest physiotherapy. Assess patients to determine therapy appropriateness, initiate and monitor mechanical ventilation, and wean patients per physician orders. Perform arterial punctures, pulmonary function studies, and EKGs while observing patients and reporting adverse reactions. Maintain accurate documentation, ensure infection control, and collaborate with medical staff to achieve positive patient outcomes. Provide coverage for relief and absences, including night, weekend, and holiday shifts, while assisting with orientation and supervision of new staff.
