Job Summary
Perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician's orders. Consult physicians on therapy effectiveness and act as an advanced resource person for medical and nursing staff on respiratory issues. Execute duties as assigned using appropriate respiratory care devices. This position is PRN at Mercy Hospital Southeast. Candidates must hold an RRT credential, a current Respiratory Care Practitioner license, and preferably critical care experience. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs and performing tasks such as kneeling and crawling.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program
- Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- PALS required for co-workers who work in the Emergency Room
- Meets state licensure requirements
- Has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Physical demands: push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
- Physical demands: pinch up to 10 lbs
- Physical demands: kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer critical care experience
- Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
