Job Summary
Provide routine and advanced respiratory care, manage ventilators, perform bronchoscopy support and airway care (including tracheotomy changes, extubation and intubation), initiate ventilator protocols, and monitor high-frequency ventilation; NICU duties may include surfactant delivery and high-risk deliveries. The role includes educational/career development options (tuition/certification reimbursement), safety considerations, shift differentials for night/weekend shifts, malpractice liability coverage, and potential back-up procedures. Requires an Associate degree or equivalent in Respiratory Care, NM licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, NBRC RRT credential, ACLS/PALS and BLS; prior critical care experience preferred. 12-hour night shifts; part-time 0.60 FTE. Presbyterian Healthcare Services is the employing system.
Required Qualifications
- ASSOCIATE
- Two to three years college level courses/Associates Degree/Diploma in Respiratory Care
- New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC
- ACLS and/or PALS , BLS required
- Six months to one year critical care experience preferred
