Job Summary
Provides cardiopulmonary diagnostic and respiratory therapeutic support for patients in the Hospital and/or outpatients requiring cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing, respiratory treatment, and/or ventilatory support. Responsible for daily evaluation of respiratory care patients, routine and entry-level critical care procedures, patient education, and coordination of department operations and quality initiatives. Ensures development, implementation, and maintenance of department policies, readiness of respiratory therapy equipment, submission of daily charges for respiratory therapy and EKGs, and participation in hospital Quality Improvement. Administers EKGs/holter monitoring and coordinates continuing education for nursing staff; represents the Hospital in community health activities. Requires Educations and licensure as noted; ACLS preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree/Certification as Respiratory Therapy Technician/Registered Respiratory Therapy Technician
- Current New Mexico licensure as Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
- CPR certification required.
