Job Summary
Conduct assessments and therapeutic modalities for infants, children, and adolescents, administering nebulized treatments, chest physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, and bag/mask ventilation to maintain a patent airway. Monitor residents on various oxygen support systems, perform suctioning, and provide resident and family education on respiratory disease processes. Set up, stock, and maintain respiratory equipment while documenting care and participating in quality improvement teams. Coordinate activities of assigned personnel and function as a member of the code blue team. Requires 2+ years of acute or long-term care experience with pediatrics, a current New York State RRT license, and BLS/PALS certifications. Earns $65.00/hour for day shift.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree from an AMA accredited school for Respiratory Care or equivalent
- Current New York State Registered Respiratory Therapist license and RRT Registration Certificate
- BLS certification
- PALS certification
- 2+ years acute or long term care specifically with pediatrics
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently
- Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies
- Must meet the general health requirements set fourth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds
- Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary
Desired Qualifications
