Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist administers diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to facilitate the patient's breathing, evaluates respiratory care for appropriateness and effectiveness, and communicates findings to other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include administering MDI, nebulization, posture drainage, positive pressure breathing, mechanical ventilation, oxygen and aerosol therapy; observing patients during treatments; preparing for patient treatment by obtaining orders, assessing requirements, prioritizing tasks, preparing medications and equipment, and explaining procedures to patients; maintaining the patient airway, performing intubation in emergencies if applicable, performing invasive procedures such as suctioning and arterial blood gas sampling, and responding to stat, trauma, and emergency calls. The role may involve serving as charge therapist in the absence of a manager/supervisor and requires adherence to safety and quality practices within a high reliability organization (HRO) framework.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree (Required)
- NBRC - National Board of Respiratory Care
- RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Ohio License (Ohio Limited Permit acceptable)
- CPR Certification
- Valid state driver’s license (Home Care department)
- Minimum of eighteen (18) years old
- MVR
- Proof of insurance if applicable
