Registered Respiratory Therapist

Registered Respiratory Therapist position administering diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures, evaluating care for appropriateness and effectiveness, and communicating findings to physicians and nurses. May serve as charge therapist in the absence of the manager. Responsibilities include administering MDI and nebulization, postural drainage, positive pressure therapy, mechanical ventilation, oxygen and aerosol therapy, incentive spirometry; monitoring patient responses; preparing treatments from physician orders; maintaining airways and performing invasive procedures (e.g., suctioning, arterial blood gas sampling), responding to stat calls and codes, and supporting trauma and resuscitation efforts. Emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency in patient care within a high-reliability framework.
