Job Summary
Registered Respiratory Therapist II for weekend night shifts at Cobb Hospital (Wellstar). In this critical care role, provide aerosolized medications, ventilator management including weaning, and airway management (including intubation/extubation and tracheostomy care). Perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, collaborate with the health care team, and educate patients, families, students, and new staff. Responsibilities include patient care delivery in complex cases, assessment and planning of therapy, documentation, promoting safety and quality initiatives, and contributing to education and professional development. Requires relevant respiratory therapy education (Associates or Bachelor’s in Respiratory Therapy preferred), active licensure/certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC-RRT, RCP), and 0-2 years of clinical experience with a preference for critical care exposure. Shift: Night, Full-time Weekend/Nights at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Respiratory Therapy or Bachelors Respiratory Therapy-Preferred
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS or BLS-I
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS or ACLS-I
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support or ARC-PALS or PALS-I
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program or ARC-NALS or NRP-I or NRP-P
- NBRC-RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
- RCP - Respiratory Care Professional
- 0-2 years clinical experience with at least 6 months of critical care
- Ability to communicate well and collaborate with physicians and health care professionals
- Computer skills and familiarity with databases
- Strong patient assessment and therapeutic planning skills
- Education/mentorship of students and new staff
