Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist II provides medication administration and respiratory care in complex, critical care settings with ventilator management and independent decision-making. Responsibilities include patient assessment, therapy planning, airway management (intubation/extubation), arterial blood gas analysis, education for patients/families and staff, and participation in staff development and program quality initiatives. Requires an Associate or Bachelor’s in Respiratory Therapy and relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC-RRT) with 0-2 years of clinical/critical care experience; shift is Night Weekend/Nights at Cobb Hospital in Rumford, ME.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Respiratory Therapy or Bachelors Respiratory Therapy
- BLS - Basic Life Support (or ARC-BLS)
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (or ARC-ALS)
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (or ARC-PALS)
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (or ARC-NALS)
- NBRC-RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
- RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Required minimum education as stated in posting
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
