Job Summary
Administer medications and implement respiratory care using an evaluate-and-treat process in complex, multiple problem-patient situations, primarily within critical care areas. Manage protocol ventilators, perform airway management including intubation and extubation, conduct arterial blood gas sampling, and interpret wave form graphics. Deliver patient and family education while mentoring new employees and students. Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan care, verify orders, and perform procedures such as bronchial hygiene and volume expansion. Maintain accurate electronic charting, ensure medication safety, and participate in performance improvement initiatives. Requires BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and RRT certification; 0-2 years of critical care experience preferred. Full-time weekend night shift at Wellstar Cobb Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Respiratory Therapy or Bachelors Respiratory Therapy-Preferred
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - Amer Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor
- PALS - Pediatric Adv Life Support or ARC-PALS - Amer Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS-I - PALS - Instructor
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program or ARC-NALS - Amer Red Cross Neonatal Advanced Life Support or NRP-I - NRP - Instructor or NRP-P - NRP-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days
- NBRC-RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapi
- RCP - Respiratory Care Prof
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care Required
- Ability to communicate well

- establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other health care professionals
- computer skills including familiarity with databases
- Good customer relation, assessment, and communication skills are a must for this job
- Must be available for Weekend/Nights
