Job Summary
RT II in NICU is responsible for medication administration and implementing respiratory care based on expanded knowledge and the evaluate-and-treat process, with a focus in a critical care NICU setting. Duties include ventilator management, arterial blood gas sampling & analysis, patient and family education, staff development, and collaboration with the health care team. The role involves education of new employees and students, adherence to safety and quality initiatives, and providing specialized respiratory care in collaboration with physicians and other professionals in a night shift, full-time capacity at Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science
- Associate's Degree A.S. degree required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care Required
- Ability to communicate well, critical thinking skills, establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other health care professionals, and computer skills including familiarity with databases
- Good customer relation, assessment, and communication skills are a must for this job
