Job Summary
Deliver medication administration and implement respiratory care for complex, multiple problem-patient situations in critical care areas. Perform patient assessments, ventilator management, weaning, and airway procedures including intubation and extubation. Administer aerosolized medications, bronchial hygiene, and oxygen therapy while conducting arterial blood gas sampling and analysis. Provide patient and family education, mentor new employees, and coordinate activities within the NICU. Complete patient care documentation and participate in performance improvement initiatives. Work full-time night shifts with a 60-hour schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science
- Associate's Degree A.S. degree
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
- Ability to communicate well
- Critical thinking skills
- Establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other health care professionals
- Computer skills including familiarity with databases
- Good customer relation, assessment, and communication skills
- Registered Respiratory Therapist license
- Respiratory Care Prof certification
- Basic Life Support certification
- BLS - Instructor certification
- BLS - Provisional certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- ACLS - Instructor certification
- ACLS - Provisional certification
- Pediatric Adv Life Support certification
- PALS - Instructor certification
- PALS - Provisional certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Prvdr certification
- NRP - Instructor certification
- NRP-Provisional certification
- Night shift availability
