Job Summary
Registered Respiratory Therapist II at Cobb Hospital (Wellstar) provides comprehensive respiratory care in critical care settings, including ventilator management, airway management (intubation/extubation/trach), aerosolized medications, ABG sampling/interpretation, and collaboration with the health care team. Responsibilities include patient and family education, staff mentoring, documentation, quality/safety initiatives, and participation in invasive/non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostic testing. Requires strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills; shift is Night. Minimum education: Associate or Bachelor in Respiratory Therapy; licenses/certifications in NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, ACLS (or equivalents) required at hire; 0-2 years clinical experience with essential critical care exposure. Location: Whitesburg, KY.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Respiratory Therapy or Bachelors Respiratory Therapy-Preferred
- NBRC-RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
- RCP - Respiratory Care Professional
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - American Red Cross BLS
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - American Red Cross ACLS
- 0-2 years clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
