Job Summary
Conduct therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. Evaluate patient needs and consult with physicians to develop and modify care plans. Administer breathing treatments and autonomously manage ventilator protocols to wean patients off mechanical respiratory support. Manage case mixes including adult cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, heart and lung transplantation, and interstitial lung disease, or treat neonates in the neonatal environment. Maintain current registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and hold required BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
- Currently registered as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT) with the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy (ASBRT)
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
