Job Summary
Evaluate and administer therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support to patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. Consult with physicians to develop and modify patient care plans, autonomously managing ventilator protocols to wean patients off mechanical respiratory support. Case mix includes adult cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, heart and lung transplantation, and interstitial lung disease; neonatal units treat the sickest babies in the region. Requires RRT licensure, BLS certification, and unit-specific ACLS or PALS. Full-time employment with a sign-on bonus available.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
- Currently registered as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT) with the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy (ASBRT)
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
