Job Summary
Conduct therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. Evaluate patient needs to autonomously manage ventilator protocols and wean them off mechanical respiratory support. Consult with physicians regarding the development and modification of patient care plans. Case mix includes adult cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, heart and lung transplantation, and interstitial lung disease, with options for neonatal environments. Requires RRT registration and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
- Currently registered as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT) with the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy (ASBRT)
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
