Job Summary
Evaluate and administer therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support to patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders. Consult with physicians concerning the development and modification of patient care plans. Manage ventilator protocols autonomously to meet patient needs while weaning them off mechanical respiratory support. Flat rate of $31.00 per hour for flexi/PRN shifts. Requires graduation from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy, current RRT registration, and Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy licensure. Basic Life Support certification required; ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on the unit. Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
- Currently registered as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT) with the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy (ASBRT)
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
