Job Summary
Evaluate and administer therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support to patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders; consult with physicians regarding development and modification of patient care plans. Role includes autonomous management of ventilator protocols and providing care across diverse patient populations, including neonatal and adult cases (e.g., cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, heart and lung transplantation, interstitial lung disease); shifts are flexi/PRN.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy required
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT) with the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy (ASBRT)
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or obtained within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required depending on unit/department
