Job Summary
Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Set up, monitor, and wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation; draw, analyze, and report Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs. Deliver intermittent therapy and assist with changing artificial airways while performing routine and advanced therapeutic procedures. Review and document all clinical information, educate patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans, and adapt communication styles to specific patient populations. Work flexible 24/7 schedules including weekends, holidays, and on-call availability in Marrero, LA.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy or pulmonary therapy
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in any U.S. state or in any country
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands
- Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
