Job Summary
Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Set up, monitor, and wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation; draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and EKGs. Deliver intermittent therapy, assist with changing artificial airways, and perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures as ordered by a physician. Review and document clinical information, educate patients and co-workers, and adapt communication styles to specific patient populations. Work flexible schedules including 24/7 coverage, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability in a healthcare setting with potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy or pulmonary therapy
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in any U.S. state or in any country
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands
- Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
