Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) performs respiratory therapeutics and diagnostics including ABG, PFTs, and various ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, and airway maintenance for adults and neonates. Responsibilities include respiratory assessment, interpreting CXR/ABG/PFT data, operating and troubleshooting cardiopulmonary equipment (ventilators, oxygen analyzers, airway devices, gas analyzers), maintaining infection control and quality assurance, and documenting patient care. Requires proficiency under indirect supervision of medical director with adherence to departmental policies. Night shift 7p-7a, 24/7 operation, Methodist Richardson Medical Center in the Dallas area with locations serving Richardson, Garland, Plano and surrounding counties.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification
- NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire
- Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- At least 6 months respiratory care experience.
